My Information:

Talent Search International

I influence corporate HR direction and increase leadership capabilities and staff retention by changing the way people and organizations work by engaging employees, building trust and creating inspiring workplaces.

My HR journey is anything, but standard.

I started off in auditing, and after 5 years found the pace a little slow; so I joined the Metropolitan Police (MP), in the U.K. Here I was fascinated by the way psychology was used in training so, when I left the MP it was inevitable I’d end up doing something connected with HR/Training & Psychology.

I then went into HR consulting (all Big 4), and after 13 years of living in different hotels, I was headhunted by Intel, then banking (CIMB Bank), Insurance (Aviva & AIG), and education (Taylor’sUniversity) to name a few.

Along the way, I completed my MBA in Human Resource Development (major in HRD; minor in Psychology) and ever since I have been enjoying my HR journey, in ever more senior roles.

Some skills I have discovered about myself in my journey, besides drinking coffee are :

● I am an exceptional client counselor, connecting easily and credibly with senior stakeholders. I have had the most fun when partnering with senior business leaders and employees to drive results through talent and change management, increasing employee engagement, trying to meet next to impossible recruitment needs and when I'm in the middle of some tough business challenges. I am at my best when I am digging into a new experience where success is the only acceptable outcome.

● I have scaled teams, organizations, and processes, both up and down. I always put the customer at the center of what I do. My gut instinct is good but my decisions are data referenced. I work collaboratively, listening deeply and innovating diplomatically. I am intellectually curious, courageous and value integrity highly.

● I have coached, aligned, led and built employees, leaders, teams, and departments. I love to win but helping my team win always gives me greater joy. I tell stories that motivate and my buck always stops with me.

● I focus on key results and making quality, cost-effective decisions. I am an avid learner who believes in continuous learning and has decided to pick up one major skill a year to make me a better leader. I bring positive energy and enthusiasm, adapting easily to new situations. I am a global citizen, culturally astute and work well in diverse teams.

Resume

-Talent Search International-
Director
Dec 2019 – Present
With a bunch of good friends – all experts in their domains – HR, Finance, IT, Marketing, Operations, Security, Governance & Risk, Procurement, etc – we have come together to provide a more people-friendly orientated approach in connecting potential talent with clients. We bring a different and unique mix to the current recruitment service providers.

So What Makes Us So Different ?

• We are all senior members having held regional or Global roles for several years. We are all specialists in several industries/ domains/ functions, and in some cases even in two or three different industries.

• We all have fantastic networks and contacts and all have experience in driving recruitment, be it locally, regionally and/ or globally. We are hungry and as such flexible - up to a point. As senior management, we can make decisions on the spot and conclude on the services to be provided (most others may have to get back to you).

• We have all conducted interviews and hired talent as hiring managers; seeing through the rough diamonds and the practiced pitches, and having a perspective for potential and not just hiring to fill the seat. Interviewing as a hiring manager is very different.

• We don’t just look for competence or aptitude: we also look for personality and experience.

Lastly, the way you handle candidates who do not make the final cut has significant ramifications on how your organization is perceived in the real world. We do this in a manner that does not leave the candidate with a “bad after taste”.

I, and the team would love to work with you and help you secure your talent needs. I do hope you can give us a chance to prove our worth.

Please do get in touch if you wish to have a chat. Thanks so very much.
