service. Introducing computerised systems, barcoding, mechanised picking, standardised
catalogue, automated washing and decontamination and a web based catalogues the service was
transformed achieving a 98% success rate on deliveries within 5 working days an extremely high

As the deputy manager of this mental health rehabilitation workshop I was responsible for the
rehabilitation of 20 mental health clients wishing to return to work. The centre ran as a social
enterprise with service users manufacturing high quality leather goods for sale.
• Manufacturing: Procurement of supplies and raw materials (leather, textiles, fittings and
components) to support manufacture of bespoke and standard leather goods.
• Motivation & support: Leading the work experience programme I supported 11 service
users back into employment or other gainful occupation.
• Product specifications: Working to written specifications and samples I became skilled in
cutting, sewing, assembling and finishing high quality leather goods.
