My diverse skillset began with a Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University, as well as theology studies at Rhema Bible College. A core tenet of my professional career is the belief ambition in business, when balanced with compassionate workplace rapport, can create positive emotional environments conducive to peak professional results.
Over the years I've held a variety of positions that allowed me to explore the dynamics of modern corporate culture while utilising and expanding my knowledge of economic practices. Roles include Marketing Assistant for corporate entity, and Managing Director in the retail sector.
My Ministry work has focused on Christian television programming, and Workplace Chaplaincy. The efficacy of modern spiritual holistic care—in a corporate context—is now recognised as an invaluable professional resource. Workplace Chaplaincy plays an important role in the support of mental fitness, and can prove integral to helping prevent employee burnout.
I understand there are many different hats to juggle when working in today's complex marketplace. Navigating the various roles we need to assume at work and home while building strong, authentic relationships can prove very challenging, regardless of the job description.
I thoroughly enjoy my position as a Workplace Chaplain with Corporate Chaplaincy Australia. Meaningful, constructive conversations with people over a good coffee are deeply fulfilling. The opportunity to listen to a person’s situation empathetically is my great privilege. Where necessary, Corporate Chaplaincy Australia also provides access to counselling through EAPs and specialist coaches.
An understanding perspective is invaluable. I'm an excellent communicator and focused listener who creates a confidential safe space within the framework of casual interactions. As a Workplace Chaplain my goal is to provide goodwill, comfort and support in the face of professional challenges, that hopefully assists in facilitating positive growth.
For thirty-five years I've been married to my wonderful husband Tom. We’ve raised three fantastic adult children, and have two precious grandchildren. Tom and I enjoy being involved with the local community, and we work together in our newsagency at Dog Swamp Shopping Centre.
