During this time I built a centre of excellence & internal consultancy for colleague experience insight within The Co-operative Group and delivered bespoke colleague feedback mechanisms, climate measures, research & education workshops and intensive engagement improvement projects.

In parallel, I drove the Group’s diversity and inclusion strategy. Using insight built by the team, we introduced a range of diversity & inclusion projects, policies, targets and initiatives and gained industry recognition with Personnel Today and National Diversity Awards.

My diversity and inclusion projects are planned and implemented with built-in effectiveness monitoring criteria. To facilitate this, I successfully implemented the Group’s first non-anonymous diversity monitoring census, achieving a 49% response rate.

I designed and implemented a three-year multi-level management gender balance strategy which included founding & growing the Group’s “Aspire” network to 560 members within 12 months. The strategy doubled female manager participant job mobility 18 months.The Group featured in the 2014 Financial Times Top 50 Employers for Women rankings.

My team & I also partnered with our expert “Respect” colleague steering group, to build a vibrant UK-wide network. Together we delivered a programme of work & education that moved The Co-operative Group from outside the index in 2009 to being 3rd place overall in the Stonewall Top 100, 2013 and 2014 Employer Rankings.
